The
research group INFOSFERA The
research group INFOSFERA of the Andalusian Research Program (TIC197) aims
at filling a gap in the digital information and documentation within the Global
Knowledge Society in Andalusia.
This
interuniversity group is multidisciplinary and co-ordinated by Maria Pinto.
It also includes researchers tied up with the entrepreneurial sector (the
Project Campus of the Board of Andalusia).
It intends to tackle the new challenges coming from electronic information
environments in innovation, science, research and knowledge generation.
The research lines are focused on TICs, knowledge management and
multiliteracy within the modern innovation society and longlife
learning.
Current key research areas
- TICs, emphasising the e-content features,
creation and design of information systems, evaluation and validation of
electronic resources.
- Teaching/learning and technologies, stressing the
creation of academic resources for lifelong learning (blended learning and
e-learning).
- Multiliteracy, by designing portals with accessible
contents of quality for lifelong learning.
- Theory,
knowledge and practice of information literacy,
proposing models and methods for developing information skills and for
defining information competencies focussing on management, processing,
evaluation and use of digital information.
Objectives
- Citizens' training through multimedia literacy programs
in order to manage digital environments for personal communication
(scientific and professional)
- Design of educational portals (e-learning) available
for all users
- Improvement and optimization of digital contents,
establishing standardized protocols for evaluating e-contents
- Documental methodology for designing e-learning programs,
stressing the role of information models and structure and considering the human resources involved in e-learning processes
- Advising companies on standardization, visibility and
information accessibility in digital environments
- Coordinating the different TIC initiatives in Andalusia
in order to facilitate information access and citizens' education
- Developing a program on documental education
and TICs use at all educational levels, with a special regard to e-learning.
