DISCUS – The online tutorial

The
online-tutorial DISCUS
(Developing Information Skills and Competence for University Students) is
offered by the
Library of the Technical
University Hamburg/Harburg.
It is a tutorial on information literacy. The aim of DISCUS is to convey
skills that help to find and evaluate information.
DISCUS is targeted at all students and members
of the TUHH and other universities and everyone who wants to improve
knowledge and skills of subject-mattered information-queries.
DISCUS does not only address novices of information research; but also experts
that get find helpful tips to optimize their research strategies.
The Tutorial consists
of

"DISCUS compact"
- All necessary information in condensed and structured form indexed
thematically and alphabetically. Full text-search is offered, too.
·
"Examples"
- tasks in simulated or existing databases. Tips and links to "DISCUS
compact".
·
A final test
to challenge the new skills.
