SWIM - information search strategy is a video-based online tutorial.

Part one - an interactive role-playing game
SWIM is an interactive, video-based role-playing game that focuses on the relationship between information searching and learning processes. Part one depicts project work, or the process of writing a paper, as a process consisting of five phases, where each phase requires different types of information.
The game concludes with an exam and an evaluation of the choices. The objective of the game is to give the players an idea of how to work out relevant information search strategies.

Part two - Information modules
Part two consists of five modules that elaborate and explain the different phases of the game. The information modules can be used separately and do not require having played the role-playing game
Module 1 Task initiation - use the information you have
Module 2 Pre-focus exploration - use easily accessible information to get a general view
Module 3 Focus formulation - structure and combine your information
Module 4 Information collection - support your focus with a number of detailed searches
Module 5 Search closure - use the information you have acquired in the process.
